Last weekend, we headed to the East Coast for a family reunion! Since Brian was in NC already for work, Hannah and I traveled by ourselves from Minneapolis to DC.
Hannah at the airport yelling "airpain" every single time she saw an airplane!
We had a rough flight! Our plane had to make an emergency landing in Chicago. Some fan that cools the electrical system had failed and the pilot needed to land the plane ASAP. It was a little scary - I thought I was going to die. We sat on the tar mack while fire trucks surrounded our plane. Meanwhile, Hannah was crying so hard because her nap on the plane had been interrupted. So we made a little detour in Chicago for a few hours while the plane was repaired and then we were off again! I worked my way onto another flight to DC and was working on stand-by to Baltimore when they finally announced we could re-board our original flight. The only good thing to come out of it was that half our flight didn't re-board, so Hannah and I got 2 seats all to ourselves this time (she's usually a lap child).
Here's how Hannah felt about it.....
So I tried to keep her happy with empty water bottles, books, snacks, toys, anything! She was extremely tired and cried more than she usually does, but everyone around us understood and said they felt the same way! It was a loonnnnggg day! But we finally made it to DC where Grampa, Auntie Tanya, Skylar, and Logan picked us up! We played outside at Gramma and Grampa's to stretch our legs before bed time.
The following morning my parents picked us up from Frederick and we drove to Seven Springs Resort in PA for the reunion.
Hannah was entertained in the car by lots of fun new toys and treats from Granny and Pap-Pap.
Friday night Hannah and I had dinner with Uncle Robbie and Aunt Heather!
We hit up the resorts game room (a huge hit with both kids and adults)!
Hannah with all her tickets that we traded in for some awesome prizes:
Star sunglasses - who wouldn't want a pair!?!?
A "neigh" as Hannah likes to call it - aka a horse.
And best of all.... A WHOOPIE CUSHION! Uncle Robbie and Hannah LOVED to play with this the entire trip.
Brian also had some flight troubles to get to the resort, but he eventually made it to our room around 1:30 AM - poor guy!
The resort during the day! It was a great place to host the family reunion! Lots of activities to please the entire crowd. Brian, Big Tom, Robbie, Heather and I did the Alpine Ski Slide you see in the above picture. It was a blast!
Hannah with her Uncle Robbie and soon to be Aunt Heather.
The family reunion just so happened to fall on the same weekend that the resort was hosting an Irish Festival. Luck of the Irish! So we dressed up and enjoyed that as well.
My little Irish Girl!
Aunt Sarah, Hannah, and Mommy!
Granny with all of her children.
Granny with all of her Grandchildren.
Granny with the Grand kids and Great-Grand kid, Hannah! (She snuck her way into some of the pictures...)
Hannah loved watching all the mountain bikers coming down the mountain.
4 Generations.
Uncle Robbie (what you don't see in this picture is the whoopie cushion he used to get Hannah to smile!)
The whole Dan Plunkett clan!
It was a HUGE reunion with about 180 family members and a fun time! We had a blast and it was sooo good to see everyone!
