8 Months Old!

Hannah turns 8 months old today! She's getting SO BIG. In fact, tomorrow she will start her transition from Infant Room A to Infant Room B at school. I was a little nervous at first for her to move on up to a bigger room, but the more I thought about it, she's definitely ready! She's outgrown the swing and bouncer in her infant room now and she's about 2 months older than the other babies. In her new room she will be reunited with her BFF Isla and will have more room to roll around on the floor and work on crawling and eventually walking. And her new teacher Miss Stephanie already LOVES Hannah!

Here is Hannah at the park last weekend on the swing for the first time. She loved it a first, then got a little scared - hence why she looks like she's holding on for dear life! We walked to another park near our house this weekend and Hannah got to swing again. Brian and I also had fun playing on the playground! :)

At 8 months old, here's what Hannah's up to:
  • She's still a great sleeper! Hannah goes to bed around 7:15 and sleeps until 6:30.
  • She's down to about 2 naps a day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. She will still do 3 if one of the naps was short.
  • We're down to 3 meals and 3 bottles a day. Hannah gets a bottle at 7 am, then we are out the door to daycare. She eats breakfast at daycare around 8, lunch and another bottle around noon, and a snack at 3. Then we usually eat dinner around 6 and she gets one last bottle before bedtime.
  • Hannah's starting to love finger foods and we've been having fun experimenting with different foods.
  • She starting drinking from the sippy cup by herself today!
  • She's still not crawling yet, but looks like she wants to. She will lay flat on the ground and get her behind up in the air, but hasn't figured out how to get on all fours yet.
  • She's still rolling around like crazy to get to where she wants to go or to get a toy she wants.
  • She loves music! She likes to dance and bob her body around. She also loves to make music/noises by banging on things or clapping things together. My Mom bought her a xylophone when she was here and it is quickly becoming one of her favorite toys! I find Brian in the living room banging on it too.....
  • She started giving kisses! She will come at your face with a slobbery open mouth - it's so cute!
  • She has also starting pointing at things. I point at her and then she sticks her finger out and points back.
  • She is obsessed with faces and hair.
  • Hannah says "Dada", "Mama", and "Baba". I don't think she understands Dada and Mama, but she will babble those sounds!
  • She loves squealing and will let out a high pitched sound when she's happy - so cute!
  • She has also started putting her arms up when we go to pick her up or she wants to be picked up.

I call Hannah "Monkey Toes". From the above picture you can see why. This child grabs EVERYTHING with her feet. She's one talented kid!

And here is a bonus picture of Hannah and Daddy!
